Mountain: 1,700 - 1,900 MASL
Variety: Bourbon
Process: Washed
Producer: Ellie Barantanda
Roaster notes: "An exciting sweet, complex and clean washed coffee with medium acidity. We have roasted this coffee to bring out the complexity and sweetness. We are super excited to finally share this one with you. This coffee totally rocks as a pour over and works brilliantly with a V60, Aero Press or makes a banging fruity espresso".
Ellie Barantanda has 1,400 coffee trees as well as 7 Children and 6 Grandchildren. Last season Ellie produced 700kg of coffee.
Burundi is among the smallest coffee-producing countries in East Africa, with a
population of 10.5 million. It has the ideal conditions for coffee production: elevations of 1500 - 2000 m, Arabica Bourbon coffee trees, abundant rainfall, and approximately 800,000 families who cultivate an average of 150-200 coffee trees per farm.
