Roaster notes: "A lovely coffee with clementine acidity, dark chocolate, a bubble tea finish with tasting notes of sweet almonds. A great coffee for espresso, your stove top and cafetiere, in fact in which ever way you can think of brewing this coffee, it would be very lovely indeed and oh so drinkable".
Nestled between Pyin Oo Lwin and Mogok, bordering Mandalay Division and Northern Shan State, lies Green Land Estate. This award-winning family farm, led by U Sai Wan, is a testament to his lifelong passion for coffee. Inspired by childhood journeys past roadside coffee farms, U Sai Wan now cultivates one of Myanmar's largest arabica plantations (approximately 450 acres), consistently earning recognition in national quality competitions.
A driving force in Myanmar's specialty coffee scene, U Sai Wan's innovative practices at Green Land have garnered national acclaim. His dedication extends beyond the farm, as he actively contributes to the Myanmar Coffee Association and serves as Sales Director at Mandalay Coffee Group. Green Land is a collaborative effort, managed alongside his uncle and aunt, supported by local agronomists and a dedicated team of local workers.
The majority of Green Land's coffee is the esteemed Costa Rica variety (a Catimor lineage), with approximately 10% dedicated to the exceptional SL34. U Sai Wan's commitment to quality extends to ongoing experimentation with promising varieties like Yellow Bourbon, Caturra, Catuai, and Geisha.
