About this awesome decaf coffee –

Tastes like: Sugar Cane - Golden Syrup - Red Berries
Mountain: 1,100 - 1,400 MASL
Variety: Bourbon, Marsellesa, Costa Rica 95
Process: Washed (Mountain Water Decaf process)
Producer: Cafeco Co-operative

Roaster notes: "This is undoubtedly the best decaf we have ever tasted, sweet, syrupy and not a hint that this does not match up to wonderful caffeinated coffee.   This lovely coffee has an ice cream smoothness and a delightful red berry pop".

This delightful coffee is grown and cultivated in La Concordia, Chiapas, located just above Huehuetenango in Guatemala. This area borders on the UNESCO protected biosphere reserve of Triunfo Verde.  Most farms in the area are polycultures and are located under the shade.

Cafeco is a 540 member cooperative founded by Jose Arguello, the 3 times COE winner whose winning farm is in the highest moutains of Concordia.  The Co-op was founded in 2015 in order to consolidate the coffees from Jose's small scale neighbours and contribute to a speciality coffee market for consistent qualities and traceability.

Cafeco provides many services to his members including certified seeds at cost price in order for producers to have solid varietals that will stand up today's climate challenges.  They also advise members of the coop on organic farming and farm management for yield optimisation.  Their in-house Q grader provide a super helpful feedback loop.  They support farmers with financing when needed.
