Roaster notes: "We are super excited to be back roasting a wonderful natural process Ethiopian coffee.  This is a complex, fruity coffee with a balanced complexity, delicious brewed with an AeroPress or pour over".

Nestled in Southern Ethiopia’s Gedeo Zone specifically Gedeb Woreda, Worika
Chelebesa kebele, about 13 km from Gedeb town—this coffee grows at elevations around 2,048 meters above sea level. Such high-altitude environments are perfect for Yirgacheffe beans, where slower cherry maturation cultivates nuanced sugars and complexity in the cup.

Farmers in this region typically grow coffee in small “garden” plots within diverse
agroforestry systems, intercropping with food crops and indigenous shade trees.

Processing this coffee naturally—with cherries handpicked, hand-sorted, and sun-dried on raised beds, shaded for up to 25 days—reinforces its quality-forward profile. This labour-intensive drying allows fermentation in the intact fruit, leading to bold, syrupy body, jammy fruit notes and enhanced sweetness.

In sensory terms, natural Yirgacheffe coffees are celebrated for intense fruit-forward sweetness and body. Vibrant berry, floral, tea-like undertones, or even subtle chocolate are key indicators of high quality G1 Ethiopian Natural’s.
