Founding Story
Juan’s grandfather won a mountain in Medellin, Colombia in a game of cards many moons ago and the family have been growing incredible coffee on it ever since. But it wasn’t until we went backpacking with our children in Central America that we realised there was a future for us in coffee. A mind-blowing cup in Chiapas, Mexico, got us thinking about the joy of good coffee and the magic of the beans. We decided to pack in our jobs and start our own Coffee roastery.
Our Mission
Our mission is to roast awesome speciality coffee that is full of flavour and wonder. We want to share our love of these beautiful beans with you and for you to love what we do!
Who is behind the coffee
We are Jayne and Juan and our family is the life and soul of our Carnival Coffee adventure. We source, roast and sell some of the best coffee in the world from our workshop in South East London and taste it a million times to get it just so. We love it and we want you to love it too. We give the beans and their farmers the respect they deserve which all contributes to the quality of the carnival in your cup. Coffee brings us together. Coffee brings us joy!
Penge
Penge is a hubbub of creativity and vibrancy that runs on community spirit in South East London. We wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for our local community: from the friends on bikes who deliver for us, the local food hub that promote us, local breweries that collaborate with us and the artwork of our friend and neighbour Rosie Lovelock. We care about our community and are proud to be a part of it. Penge - we salute you!

Artwork
All of our packaging is designed by Rosie Lovelock, our Artist and illustrator friend in Penge. Rosie illustrates each coffee with a unique mask design inspired by the carnivals of each coffee origin. The artwork and celebrations of that region inform the colours, patterns and character of each mask. You can find out more about her here: www.rosielovelock.com
