What another wonderful, Carnival year it has been. Thank you for keeping us doing what we love so much; sourcing, developing, and sharing with you all delicious coffee for the fourth year running.
The lovely feedback you share with us after drinking Carnival Coffee Roaster's coffee always makes our day.

A few Carnival highlights from 2023
We are delighted that the Carnival subscription club member community continues to grow beyond our wildest dreams, mainly through lovely club members telling their friends and family about the wonderful coffee they are drinking, thank you.
Carnival Coffee Roasters has gone global! We were able to finally sort the logistics to start shipping overseas in 2023 to cafes and coffee businesses and at home drinkers.
London Coffee Festival, April 2023

World of Coffee, Athens June 2023
We attended the World of Coffee for the first time in 2023. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet new producers, try exciting new coffee and test out some ace, new innovative coffee machinery.
Commissioning our new coffee roaster summer 23
We got our fabulous Loring15 coffee roaster up and running in the Summer 23 thanks to the legendary Malcolm. It was a sharp learning curve moving from a traditional drum roaster to an air roaster. We have cracked it! And it has helped us increase the capacity of the coffee we can roast and reduce emissions, win, win. Come and see this wonderful technology in action every Tuesday and Wednesday at our roastery/neighbourhood coffee shop space.
Opening the new space at 9 Central Parade, London SE20 7TN
We finally opened our much-anticipated new space in October 23. A space where you can come and try different coffee, take part in cuppings, and learn more about roasting, processes, coffee profiles and so much more. We are delighted to have been able to install our wonderful Slayer espresso machine which has been working hard to keep you caffeinated. Our brew bar has been in action creating wonderful daily pour overs. We hosted our first tasting event. We have lots of exciting events and workshops planned for 2024, watch this space!
Extracted Development Competition, November 2023
Juan took part in the Manchester Coffee Festival Extracted Development competition in November 23 with the very awesome Ryohji. Together they competed with a signature espresso, filter, and plant-based drink. They won! Find out more about the competition here. The coffees they used were Typica La Roca from Colombia and Aniabtany PB from Kenya. Here is what the judges had to say about their performance: “From the bold espresso to the creamy plant-based masterpiece and the delicate filter coffee: their unbeatable chemistry and dedication have woven the ultimate coffee experience for our judges and everyone at the brew bar”.
Relationship coffee
It continues to be important to us where possible to return to the same farmers and repeat buy their coffee, this enables the farmers to plan their harvest and financially plan too.
We were delighted to welcome back some Carnival favourites in 2023 new harvests of Luz Dary, Gallego Micro-lot, San Ramon, Rotutu, Sidamo, Bukonzo dream, Bale Mountain, Aqui Badu, The Lady, Midnight Moon and of course our very own family coffee, La Familia.
We roasted and shared over 45 different coffees with you all in 2023 and roasted our first ever coffees from El Salvador.
What was your favourite coffee in 2023? Our top drunk / sold coffee was San Ramon from Nicaragua followed closely behind by the lovely Sidamo from Ethiopia and La Virgen from Colombia.

Emission free delivery in Southeast London
We continue to cycle your coffee delivery across Southeast London. Richard, your friendly coffee cycle courier has cycled over 7000 miles across & up and down Southeast London hills and through rain, snow, and shine in 2023. We estimate this has saved 1.85 tonnes of CO2 van delivery emissions and has put Richard in good shape for his annual endurance cycle race in France!
Supporting local businesses and new cafés
We have been delighted and honoured to continue supporting businesses on the set up of their new cafes and coffee bars in hotels and offices by providing full equipment and coffee solutions, barista training, coffee menus and recipes. And to have welcomed lots of new partnerships throughout 2023.
Carnival Coffee Roasters have donated over £5k of financial and coffee donations in 2023.
Partnering with our local food banks
We have donated £4,600 worth of coffee to our two chosen charities in 2023. We donate freshly roasted coffee every week to the cafes and clients at South Norwood Community Kitchen and Living Well food in Bromley. Thank you for helping us support these vital local initiatives.
School and charity fundraising
We never turn down a raffle prize request in our local community. We have been lucky enough to support local schools and their PTA initiatives through pop up coffee bars and subscription prizes. Please get in touch with us if we can support your Southeast London School’s fundraising or local charity campaign with lovely Carnival Coffee.
