How has it been two years since we first opened our roasting shed?! It has been a total blast and we have loved every minute of it, what an honour to roiast and deliver your coffee, thank you.
Some of our best highlights have included roasting my Dad's coffee from the farm in Medellin, Colombia here in London for the first time. We will be welcoming back the new harvest next month.
We started a Carnival Mangrove Forest at the beginning of the yearand already we are at nearly 3,000 trees planted, thank you for each and everyone of your coffee orders which has equated to a tree in the forest.
In March 2020 we set out to raise £600 for a charity based in Medellin Colombia to provide a week's emergency food package to 200 families impacted by the lock down. Your support buying coffee and your kind donations helped us to reach the fantastic total of £1,875 (thank YOU). This will mean that Sonrisa A La Calle can reach even more families and critically provide longer term support during these difficult times, thank you
Over the last two years we have roasted and shared coffee with you from many incredible origins from across the coffee belt. Including Colombia, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico, China, Burundi, East Timor, Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda. We look forward to many of the returning harvests from our favourite coffees as well as tracking down coffee from El Salvador and Ecuador in the next few months.
A big thank you to the wonderful Rosie Lovelock for all of the incredible and inspiring art work. Rosie has captured so wonderfully the essence of carnivals at coffee origins and the movement, joy and colourfulness from a great cup of coffee and designed bespoke art for each of our coffees.
Steve and Richard have joined us in the last year roasting and cycling and we are incredibly grateful for all of their talent, dedication to the flavour in your cup and the countless miles cycled through rain, snow and shine to get your coffee carbon free to your door in South East London.
We unanimously agree that meeting all of you has been the best highlight for us, whether it is an email brew recipe chat or a door stop chat when delivering your coffee. There have also been some silly videos along the way - watch two years of Carnival Coffee Roasters . We are delighted every day to see Carnival brewed across the land, thank you.
